The true airfoil design of the shutter blade makes it extremely productive and allows for very little performance loss. The true beauty of a PVC shutter is the low maintenance and easy cleaning.Replaceable PartsUnlike the problem aluminum shutters have with being destroyed by bending, the PVC shutter can be twisted and wrenched without damage. All parts are replaceable, so any possible damage can be repaired for minor costs.

There are no steel parts to rust on AP's all-aluminum shutter with the only non-metallic parts being the nylon washers and sleeves. The nylon sleeves are self lubricating and only need to be cleaned to be functional. The most unique feature of the all-aluminum back-draft shutter is its ability to move to a full open position. This is accomplished by putting the shutter blade pivot pins in a off-center position. Other shutter blades are hinged at the top of each blade which does not permit full opening creating shutter drag on the motor.
